About Cornerstone Bullion
Chad Roach founded Cornerstone Bullion in 2009. Since being founded, the company has grown quickly. They are a member of the Industry Council on Tangible Assets (ICTA) and work to help each of their clients meet their personal investment and financial goals. Cornerstone Bullion is a family-operated business and has maintained an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
Cornerstone Bullion offers very competitive pricing. While many online precious metals dealers mark their prices up 5 or 10% (or more, in some cases) to cover commissions, Cornerstone Bullion believes in passing the savings onto you. In most cases, their products are only priced about 1 or 2% above their costs.
Cornerstone Bullion customers can invest in gold, silver, platinum, and palladium coins and bars. Below, you'll see a few of the various options you can choose from if you decide to work with Cornerstone Bullion.
Cornerstone Bullion can help you add precious metals to a Gold IRA. Adding gold, silver, or other precious metals to an IRA allows you to invest in precious metals while also enjoying the tax benefits that IRA holders receive.
If you think you would like to set up a new Precious Metals IRA or roll over an existing retirement account into a precious metals IRA, the first step is to find an IRA custodian. You can choose your own custodian or work with one of the companies that Cornerstone Bullion recommends.
Once you've selected your custodian, they'll work with you to get your account set up and to fund it. Then, you can work with a member of the Cornerstone Bullion team to choose from the various IRA-approved coins and bars they offer. They'll also take care of shipping all of your precious metals to the IRS-approved depository that you/your custodian select.
Selling to Cornerstone Bullion
If you have precious metals (coins or bars) that you'd like to sell, Cornerstone Bullion works to make the process simple and straightforward. Unlike some other companies, they will purchase nearly any types of coins or bars.
Simply call the company and tell them what you want to sell. They'll give you a quote, and if you are happy with the quote, you can lock in the price. Then, you'll just need to ship your metals to Cornerstone Bullion where they'll be inspected and verified. Once verified, Cornerstone Bullion will send you payment for the metals.
Are There Any Red Flags for Cornerstone Bullion?
Looking at customer reviews for a company is a wise decision before spending your money somewhere. When you're talking about investing a lot of money in precious metals, it is even more important to do your research and determine whether there are any red flags that have been raised by past customers.
We've included the ratings we pulled from five trustworthy review sites (the Better Business Bureau, the Business Consumer Alliance, TrustLink, Trustpilot, and Google). As you can see, Cornerstone Bullion has high ratings from the Better Business Bureau and Business Consumer Alliance, though these ratings are not based off of customer reviews.
Reviews from actual past customers for this company seem to be more limited on the sites we checked. Hearing about the experiences others had with a company is very useful. It can help you get a feel for how you'll be treated as a customer. So, while more limited reviews doesn't tell us that you can't trust Cornerstone Bullion, it does make it more difficult to gauge what your experience with the company will be like.
Is Cornerstone Bullion a Scam?
Let's cut right to the reason you're here reading this article: is Cornerstone Bullion a scam? We found nothing that told us that Cornerstone Bullion is anything other than a legitimate company. They have been around for over a decade, and Chad Roach, the company's founder, is known for his involvement in other related financial industries.
OK, so now that we've established that Cornerstone Bullion is a legitimate company, the question remains: are they the right precious metals company for you. This question is really up to you to decide, but we can share our thoughts that may help make the decision a little easier for you.
While there are some things we really like about Cornerstone Bullion, such as the fact that there are no minimums for investing, the high ratings from the BBB and Business Consumer Alliance, and the fact that you can invest in platinum and palladium in addition to gold and silver, there are also a few things that are holding us back from really recommending the company.
First, based on what is shown online, it does not appear that Cornerstone Bullion has a very extensive selection of coins and bars. Many other companies will have a greater number of products available for you to purchase as a personal investment or to add to a Gold IRA.
We're also a bit hesitant to fully recommend Cornerstone Bullion since we couldn't find too many reviews. Only two of the sites we checked (TrustLink and Google) had customer reviews. And, while all of these reviews were positive, there were only seven in total. Some of the gold investment companies we highly recommend have thousands of customer reviews.
Finally, Cornerstone Bullion is not an IRA custodian. While they can work with the Custodian of your choice to help you set up an IRA, it is easier when you can find a company that can handle both pieces of the process for you.
Pros & Cons of Cornerstone Bullion
Now it is time for you to make the decision about whether you want to give Cornerstone Bullion your business. Do you feel that they are the best company to handle your needs? We think you may be happier if you choose to work with one of our top companies that offers a larger selection of coins and bars and comes very highly recommended by thousands of past customers.
Although we think Cornerstone Bullion is a pretty solid company, they did not make our top 5 list. We believe that the companies on this list provide better options.
